Varsity players come together and cheer after earning a point

The Ripon High volleyball season is just beginning, and things are going well for the Lady Indians.

This year, the girls are making each minute count. With multiple games already finished, they are practically blurring the line between fun and hard work. The coaching staff and players have come to the consensus that having fun and being positive is just as important as the game itself.

“We’re all really close already and we all kind of have the same sense of humor. We never really get mad at each other, we just keep our energy up,” varsity player Rachel Sausedo said.

The other students at Ripon High have also played a big role in support this season. At a recent home game against Manteca High, the crowd was louder than ever in supporting their school. They cheered and yelled for every point, greatly contributing to the players’ positive attitudes.

“The spirit and the crowds have doubled, if not tripled, since last year. It’s really exciting to see students coming, having fun, and getting excited and cheering on the girls. Some of these girls have been training for four years, and it’s so fun to see the fans appreciating all the hard work that they’ve done,” Coach Clevenger stated.

Whatever the outcome of this year, Ripon High is already immensely proud of their volleyball team and all of their accomplishments. With over half the season left, the girls still have a lot of work ahead of them, and they are rising to the challenge.
