Many citizens of Ripon gathered at Stouffer Park to embrace the Christmas spirit on November 26th. At seven p.m. the choir students began singing “Deck the Halls”. Soon after singing, people had the chance to eat cookies and drink hot chocolate; then the tree was lit up with colorful and bright Christmas lights. After the tree lighting, the students sang “Silent Night”. The choir teacher, Adam Serpa, mentioned that students had made and were selling mistletoe. Serpa also stated that the choir class was in need of money to buy a new piano and uniforms for the choir students. After his announcements the students finished the night off with “Jingle Bells”.
