When the Friday night lights appear, it’s more than just football. It’s camaraderie, trust, building each other up, teamwork, and so much more. Because it’s not just a sport. It’s not just another play — it’s another memory. Ripon High gets another shot at more Friday night memories in the playoffs.
Ripon High Indians beam with pride as they go off to playoffs for the second year in a row. Through hard work and determination, the Ripon High football team went 5-5 on the season, ultimately giving them the opportunity to participate in the 2025 playoffs. They’re preparing to play against Liberty Ranch, the team that they lost 35-0 to in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
Senior Wide Receiver and Corner back, Mike Evans stated, “It feels pretty good especially since we’ve had a pretty rough 5 weeks. So getting to the playoffs was pretty nice. I always knew we had it in us to make it to the playoffs.”
Junior Quarterback Andrew Shaw said, “I feel like we’ve been playing pretty hard this year. I mean, there’s been some games where things didn’t go our way, but I feel like we always play hard and compete. It’s the team that beat us in the playoffs last year, so you know, hopefully we can go get them back. We’re excited to go out there and play.”
It’s easy to see that even though this season wasn’t what the fans wanted, it was worth it. The team has made a great effort, the coaches, the fans, everyone. No matter how this playoff game goes, Ripon High is truly proud of the varsity football team. They’ve worked hard and are ready to play even harder for this upcoming game. Go Indians!
