Our springs sports are doing great this year. Ripon’s tennis, girl’s soccer, softball, and baseball team are all in postseason competition.
The tennis team won their first league title since 1987 and is currently competing in sections as a team. They have made it past the first two rounds. One of the standout doubles teams is the dynamic duo of Fidel Perez and Federico Entrade. The next match is Monday the 11th against Sonora at home.
“This year was really great, and I hope we can win,” said Isaiah Sanchez, a junior on the team.
The girl’s soccer team won league with a 9-0-1 record and are first seed in their playoff bracket. Last Thursday in their first playoff match they took care of Lindon by beating them 2-0. On Wednesday the lady Indians take on Colfax at home.
Softball went 9-3 and got second place in the TVL while the baseball team finished 9-6 tied with Escalon for second place. On Monday the Indians will play Linhurst in Olivehurst for the last seed in playoffs.
“We’ve prepared all season for this moment and it’s go time,” said Senior pitcher Trent Murphy.
