Ripon High Blood Drive

Delta Blood bank paid a visit to Ripon High Wednesday, Jan. 28, for students age 16 and up to get a chance to donate blood. Students had to sign up with parent consent then select their time slot. After arriving to the cafeteria, student were to fill out a questionnaire, then had their health data taken. After a small finger prick to test iron, it was determined if they were fit to donate blood.
“It’s an awesome feeling knowing I might be saving lives by doing something so easy,” said junior Bryce Coutrakis. After donating blood, students were required a 20 minute resting period and refill time with unlimited snacks and juice. “It’s a great experience that I will love to keep participating in,” Coutrakis continued. Each donation could save up to three lives and Ripon High is known for its high donation rate, making it a school full of saviors, here to help out in the community.
