ASB Speeches

The ASB speeches were on Wednesday, February 11th. The event was presented by Alyssa Harris. Speeches were given by candidates Darren Sexton, K.J. Martinez, Austin Mathews, Robert Hutto, Kayla Hutto, Claire Weaver, Marissa Regalo, and Maddie Hawes. The candidates all did a great job!

Claire Weaver’s speech was very descriptive and powerful in its message. She accurately detailed all of her intentions as ASB activities director, and told the audience exactly what she planned to do if she was elected. Her message was clear and concise and, while some may say a bit overzealous and long winded, did a good job conveying her message.

However, the speech that clearly stole the show was the final speech by hopeful ASB rally commissioner candidate, Austin Mathews. His speech had the crowd in stitches, cheering for him by the end. There were even some standing ovations. When I asked student Justin Femino what he thought about Austin Mathews speech, he said, “He seems like a standup guy, I would definitely trust him with my life.” Great job Austin and the rest of the candidates!
