During the girls soccer season, there are certain memorable games, ones that boost confidence and bring the team closer together. On Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, the Ripon High girls JV soccer team experienced one of these games facing Waterford at Ripon’s home turf. By the end of the match, Ripon dominated Waterford with a 15-1 victory. With a strong offensive performance, Ripon broke through Waterford’s defense and scored consistently throughout the game.
Hannah Ryans, Ripon’s goalie, commented on the match. “Personally, I think the game went really well for me,” Ryans said. “I did unfortunately let in a goal. They just broke past me, and it was a one-on-one situation.” She added, “The other team couldn’t really counter. We were breaking through and scoring left and right.”
The JV girls soccer team has been performing exceptionally well this season. Currently, the team sits in first place in the league, followed by Escalon. Claire Rietkerk, a freshman JV player, has had an outstanding season and leads the team in goals per match. Jenna Brawley, also a freshman at Ripon High, has contributed strong leadership alongside Rietkerk. Another key contributor is JV player and Sophomore Paige Thomas, who leads the team in assists.
The JV girls will look to continue their winning streak at their next game on Friday, Jan. 16, against Ripon Christian. Come out and support the team at Ripon Christian!
