School spirit is all about involvement, kindness, and fun. Freshman, Jackie Faria and junior, Parker Stewart are the exact embodiment of this and it’s the reason these two have been honored with the “Spirit of the Month” title. Both students radiate positivity through the hallways with their creative outfits for different spirit days.
Jackie Faria or better known as “The Lorax” is in her freshman year and you might have recognized her dressed as the Lorax during HOCO week. She is involved in various sports like softball and other clubs. Jackie is friendly, funny, and is always capable of making others laugh! Jackie says that to her being the spirited student means ” Dressing up and socializing with people I don’t know so that I can get more social!” She uses opportunities like dress up days to show her bold personality and create new friendships.
One of Jackie’s closest friends, Gracie Balding says, ” I’m very proud of her because she was very spirited in school and her costume of the Lorax was very very good”. She describes Faria with the best personality and outgoing in all the best ways. Gracie hopes to support her through all the rest of her amusing dress up day outfit.
Similarly, 11th grader Parker Stewart has similar qualities and a love for going all out on spirit days. Parker is ecstatic to receive this title since she’s been going all out for almost every dress up day. She is involved in FFA and can be spotted with her creative outfits.
To Parker being the spirited student means a lot because she has had such creative outfits and finally gets the recognition she deserves.”I’m super glad to be the spirited student because I’ve been dressing up super spirited since freshman year and I was finally able to get spirited student,” Stewart explained. You may have seen her in her favorite all decked out Pink Out outfit, which consisted of her custom made hat and other fun personalized pieces.
These two spirited students show us their fun nature and involvement in school. Whether it’s being in any school related activities or going all out for dress up days these two show their love for both. Thanks to their up beat and fun energy people like Jackie and Parker create dress-up weeks something that everyone looks forward to.
