This week kicked off with Dude, Be Yourself day, where students came to school in their pajamas. This theme encouraged comfort, self-expression, and authenticity, giving students a chance to show their unique personalities in a relaxed, fun way. Hallways were filled with colorful pajama patterns and slippers, and the lighthearted atmosphere helped set a positive tone for the rest of the week.
Tuesday was Dude, Be Your Future day, when students dressed as what they want to be when they grow up. From doctors and engineers to athletes and artists, the hallways were filled with creativity and inspiration. This day offered more than just costumes–it sparked conversations about personal goals, hope to take in the future, highlighting the diversity of ambition.
Wednesday’s theme, Dude, Represent Your Club day, was all about fun and school pride. Students wore gear representing all kinds of different clubs, showing off their favorite activities and hobbies. The day gave everyone a chance to celebrate what they love most about the school in a playful, spirited way, and the hallways were filled with excitement.
Thursday was Dude, Appreciate Our Staff day, a day for students to show gratitude for teachers, coaches, and other staff members. By dressing like their favorite staff members or sporting attire that represents them, students had a chance to reflect on the important role these individuals play in school life. Senior Emmie Wilbur shared her thoughts on the week: “All of the spirit days are pretty easy and tangible to do, they’re not over the top like homecoming is. It’s kind of low-key but still gives a positive message.” Her comment captures the overall vibe of the week: fun and creative, yet meaningful.
Friday wrapped it all up with Dude, Be Nice day, where students show their school spirit and unity, often by wearing red or Ripon gear. This final day reinforces the core message of the week. Kindness, respect, and positivity. This entire week serves as a reminder that school spirit is not just about fun costumes, but about creating a welcoming and supporting environment for everyone.
